Microsoft India announced the launch of Microsoft Kaizala, a mobile-only product designed for large group communications and work management. Microsoft Kaizala makes it simple for organizations to seamlessly communicate, collaborate and complete tasks, bringing together desktop users and mobile-only users who may be within or outside their organizations. Microsoft India also announced the launch of its enterprise version, Kaizala Pro that allows organizations to have full administrative control of their groups.
Microsoft Kaizala is aimed at enabling Indian organizations to be more productive
Organizations in India are becoming more dispersed, and as a result, connectivity with their extended teams and partners is crucial. This is evident across industries, ranging from construction, manufacturing, insurance and healthcare to retail. Microsoft Kaizala helps organizations connect with large numbers of people inside and outside their organization, easily coordinate tasks across the value chain, and gain actionable insights. Microsoft Kaizala users can simply get connected using their mobile phone numbers as their primary unique ID. Microsoft Kaizala is powered by Microsoft Azure, Microsoft’s trusted cloud platform. The product is enterprise ready.

Microsoft Kaizala has seen significant adoption among Indian organizations such as YES Bank, Apollo Telemedicine, Republic TV, United Phosphorous Limited and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, who are currently piloting the solution for their internal teams. In addition, the Government of Andhra Pradesh is one of the first government organizations to use Microsoft Kaizala for real-time governance. More than 30 government departments and over 70,000 users in the State Government use Microsoft Kaizala for day-to-day work.
Microsoft Kaizala Pro has additional features that include user and group management, system integration and automation using Microsoft Kaizala APIs, advanced reporting and analytics, ability to publish custom actions, ability to create public groups, and organizational profile and directory.

Microsoft Kaizala is available in India as a free download on iOS and Android phones. Microsoft Kaizala Pro is available to purchase standalone at a list price of INR 130 per user per month. Current Office 365 customers should contact their Microsoft representative for additional information.

Get real-time feedback from your employees and partners via polls and surveys. Quickly set up users with just their phone number. Mirror your organization’s hierarchy with groups-within-groups or use public groups to connect with customers.
2. Manage your team’s work efficiently
Coordinate tasks for common work scenarios with built-in Actions that make it easy for managers to schedule meetings, assign and track jobs, or improve efficiency with location awareness features. Users can respond to Actions effortlessly. Build custom Actions based on your organization’s unique needs or quickly integrate Kaizala into your current workflows and systems, via Open APIs.
3. Get actionable insights and reporting
Gather richer insights from your data with built-in analytics that help you make informed decisions. Get auto-created aggregated reports – or create custom reports – at each level of your hierarchy to analyze effectiveness in each of your groups.
4. Ensure controlled access and security
Manage users or groups via the web-based Kaizala Management Portal. Azure Active Directory authentication ensures secure access to the portal, where your Administrator can control group membership and data access, easily remove users from all groups, and wipe data from their devices. Kaizala maintains user privacy and stores data in secure and compliant Azure data centers.
Pricing and Licensing Details
Microsoft started Kaizala as a Garage project from where it went live to the customers. The Garage is a Microsoft community platform for its employees, that supports and encourages problem solving in an innovative way.
Microsoft already has a enterprise social network in Yammer, that enables employees to collaborate across departments, geographies and business applications. Apart from Yammer, Kaizala competes with Slack, a team communication application providing services such as real-time messaging, archiving, and to search for modern teams.
Microsoft Teams is also available as a group chat-based workspace and available in Office 365. There are several productivity improvement apps available and Kaizala as mentioned above, is specifically targeting countries like India where the market is developing and embracing technology to solve real life problems.
