Hon’ble Supreme Court stated “an effective process has been evolved to ensure identity verification, as well as, the addresses of all mobile phone subscribers for new subscribers. In the near future, and more particularly, within one year from today, a similar verification will be completed, in case of existing subscribers.”
Based on above mentioned details of order, the Department of Telecommunication (DoT) has issued instructions to all operators to verify all existing mobile subscribers (Prepaid & Postpaid) through Aadhaar based E-KYC process on or before 31-March-2018.
DoT (Department of Telecommunications) and UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has finally issued directives for generating OTP (One-Time PIN) either through the service provider’s website or through the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) services to facilitate the Aadhaar linking with mobile number.
The users of Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, BSNL, JIO and all other service providers can now link their mobile connection with Aadhaar by just calling toll-free number 14546 from the mobile number which is not yet linked with Aadhaar.
