DailyHunt, News and local language content application, launched Newzly, a news-in-brief app for Android users. The app offers a summary of trending news articles across multiple genres such as regional, international, entertainment, business, sports and technology. The content is available in nine languages – English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali and Gujarati.
Newzly presents a summary of stories in a simple minimalistic design, in the form of cards that can be swiped horizontally to seamlessly sift through subsequent news. The app allows users to read the full article by simply swiping vertically. With Newzly, consumers can also customize their feed basis topics of interest. Users can bookmark cards and share stories on social media including Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Recently DailyHunt launched live TV in tie up with Yupp TV. The Live TV section of the app have more than 130 channels across genres like news, entertainment, spiritual, movies among others. TV channels in nine local languages including Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Bengali, Punjabi and English is available for free on the app. Apart from the 130 TV channels from YuppTV, the DailyHunt app will also feature live TV content from existing content partners including Republic TV, BBC News & ABP News.
Live TV will directly compete with other streaming services such as Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hotstar, Voot etc.
In October 2016, the company raised $25 million in a Series D funding round led by ByteDance, a Beijing-based content service provider. Other investors in Dailyhunt include Sequoia Capital, Matrix Partners, Falcon Edge Capital and Omidyar Network.
