Google Tez, Internet giants India based payment app, has integrated a new chat feature to its payment app. The new feature will allow users to communicate with each other within the app itself. The chat will also help the users to add meaningful context to their transactions without going to a different app.
Within few months of its launch, Tez is growing at a fast pace within India. The app has garnered 13.5 million users and 250 million transactions were made through the UPI based app.

How to use Tez Chat Feature?
The new chat feature is available next to pay and request button. You have to update your app with the latest release from Google Playstore or Apple Appstore. The chat button will pop up your keyboard and you can start typing the message.
The chat feature can be really useful if the user wants to chat with the person whom he is sending or receiving the payment. Especially when he pays the shop keeper and he can confirm whether he received the payment or not.
As of now, the chat feature is a simple messaging platform where the users can send messages to and fro to their friends and other users.
Our take on the new feature!
The new feature is extremely simple and you can contact the other person immediately through Tez chat and confirm on payments rather than going to other messaging platforms.
The move from Payments to Chat is not new for payments app in India. Last year, Paytm introduced Inbox feature to integrate chat to paytm platform. With WhatsApp rolling out its payment feature to its pilot users, India’s digital payment ecosystem is going strong and seeing some serious competition among the payment companies. Other similar players like Freecharge are also implementing chat feature to their payment platform.
The chat will bring these payment platforms to bring in ease of a conversation between the business and the consumers besides facilitating just payments.
Google wants payments to be a separate app rather than integrating with its own messaging apps like Allo. And Tez is rather very simple with its clean user interface and ease of use.
