In yet another innovative campaign, Kerala Tourism is providing a one time chance to 27 bloggers from across the world to discover Kerala’s beauty. Kerala Blog Express is a two-week long road journey that will take them from the southern part of the State to its north. Based on a public voting the selected 27 bloggers from different parts of the world can travel with Kerala Tourism and know the cultural heritage of Kerala. The bloggers will get a chance to tweet about the entire travel as well as blog about the beautiful experiences of Kerala.
In response to the selection process, Kerala Tourism received entries from as many as 80 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Philippines, Poland, Spain, Germany and Canada. Top travel bloggers like Marcello Arrambide, Cezar Dumitru are taking part in the selection. Some of the bloggers have already been featured in the National Geographic, Condé Nast Traveller and the Lonely Planet.
The two-week, up close experiences in Kerala for the bloggers include boating in the backwaters, Ayurvedic treatment, Kathakali performances; besides giving bath to captive elephants.
“This is a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country to attract the travel blogger community for a first-hand experience of our land, its geography and culture,” said Mr. A.P. Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, Kerala.
The team includes five Indian bloggers as well.

Kerala tourism is famous for its innovative campaigns and marketing ads. The earlier campaigns have won many noted awards in advertisements and marketing for Kerala Tourism. The tagline (Gods own country) itself has been popular among the domestic as well as the international tourists. These campaigns have attracted tourists from all over the world and has been one of the major source of income for Kerala.
The campaigns of Kerala Tourism has gained international visibility that made their website one of the most visited tourism sites of the country as well as the world. In terms of web traffic, the site was among the top 10 tourism websites in the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East regions. On an average the site gets more than 250000 visits per month. They were the first ones to start a campaign on UK taxis which was a hit among the UK population. One good point to be noted is that even without a brand ambassador, these campaigns have been hit among the tourists.
Kerala Tourism website is technologically rich with a responsive design available on all devices. The website is available in 18 languages as well. The website has all the elements of tourism website and all the information about Kerala and its cultural heritage.
The Facebook page has 867K likes and has 23.3K Twitter Followers. The YouTube video page has more than 6000 subscribers and more than 75 lakhs views.
Even the engagements for the posts on Facebook is huge compared to other tourism departments of India. On an average, a post on Facebook gets more than 2000 likes and 500 shares. The posts includes a good mix of the picturesque Kerala and the campaigns of Kerala Tourism.
