Introducing #AmazonCart, an exciting new way to add Amazon products to your shopping cart, without leaving Twitter. Simply find a tweet containing an Amazon product link, reply with #AmazonCart, and check out when you are ready, as the product has been quickly and easily saved in your Cart.
The service is for U.S. customers only, although U.K. users have a similar service with the hashtag #AmazonBasket.

The service is available for US users where the estimated twitter users are around 48 million by the end of 2014. Most of these users showcase their products on twitter after purchasing from amazon. Amazon wants to leverage this point so that users who view this link on twitter don’t need to leave twitter and add it from amazon. I don’t think there will be a huge impact of this feature on amazon but amazon truly wants to make shopping more social. Social media is the present and the future. e-commerce will be leveraging the benefits of social media increasingly. Moreover mobile platforms are used increasingly for online shopping. More than 75% of twitter users access twitter from their mobile platforms. These could be the benefits that amazon is looking at. They could leverage the twitter users, mobile users with this single feature.
Amazon is not trying to solve a problem but giving more options to the customers so that it widely opens the purchasing space for amazon. Not just by visiting amazon website or the advertisements but even from other platforms the customers are given the option to buy from amazon. This widely opens the purchasing options available for the user.
