India’s Online marketplace Flipkart gets its HR Head. Nitin Seth will join Flipkart as its Chief People Officer. Nitin Seth brings with him over two decades of experience and joins Flipkart from Fidelity India. He will partner with the leadership team of Flipkart to build an organization for the future that is versatile and adaptable. Further, he will foster a distinctive culture to fuel business performance.

Nitin Seth will report to Binny Bansal, CEO & Co-founder of Flipkart.

Before assuming his new role with Flipkart, Nitin Seth was the Managing Director and Country Head for Fidelity International in India. At Fidelity, he was responsible for the company’s offshore operations across India and Tunisia, comprising over 2,600 professionals, which is around 40% of company’s headcount and the majority of its Technology, Operations, Finance, Investment Research and Analytics capabilities.

Prior to joining Fidelity International, Nitin was with McKinsey, where he was the Director of McKC, McKinsey’s global knowledge center in India. He led McKC for 8 years where he developed a nascent research back office into one of the largest knowledge centers of its type in the world, and grew it from 35 to 750 professionals. He built McKC as an innovation hub that has transformed how McKinsey serves clients.

Nitin left McKinsey for two years (from April 2000 to April 2002) to be an entrepreneur. He set up ActiveKarma Ventures, a technology solutions company, whose primary focus was to leverage the Internet to offer innovative health and lifestyle solutions.

Nitin Seth holds an MBA (Majors in Finance and Operations) from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, where he was awarded the Chairman’s Gold Medal for graduating first in the MBA program. He also holds an undergraduate degree in engineering (B.Tech) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

The chief people officer at Flipkart was vacant for the last few months after one of their earlier employee, Mekin Maheshwari quit the post in the last September. Mekin Maheshwari moved to an advisory role at the company.
